Description

Reporting to the Head of Resource Acquisitions and Management, the E-Resources Acquisitions Librarian leads the University Library’s licensing activities and plays an integral role in acquiring and managing e-resources for the libraries. The E-Resources Acquisitions Librarian will join the Resource & Acquisitions Management (RAM) unit within the Technical Services department made up of librarians and staff with expertise in purchasing, licensing, metadata, and description who work together within a dynamic and collaborative team structure to acquire a diverse array of library materials and make them robustly discoverable to advance instruction and scholarship across campus. The person in this role will collaborate closely with the E-Resources Cataloger and other colleagues in Technical Services as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team that strives to deliver a seamless user experience within a complex discovery environment.

Qualifications

  • ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science or an advanced degree in a related field
  • Aptitude for detail-oriented work, including strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with diverse groups of library staff and external colleagues
  • Effective organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Flexibility and a high degree of comfort with change, and enthusiasm for an innovative and evolving environment
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a team environment
