Description:
The person in this role will work closely with colleagues in Resource Acquisitions & Management to coordinate decision-making around the acquisition of machine-readable cataloging (MARC) records immediately upon their availability, participate in troubleshooting access to e-resources with a cross-functional team of Technical Services staff, and be central to the libraries’ effective melding of metadata schemas in creating a cohesive, user-friendly catalog interface.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with non-machine-readable cataloging (MARC) metadata schemas, vocabularies, and content standards, such as Dublin Core (DC), Metadata Object Description Schema (MODS), Encoded Archival Description (EAD), Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies (PREMIS)
- Familiarity with various encoding/transmission formats, such as Resource Description Framework (RDF), Extensible Markup Language (XML) and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
