Description: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science holds the contract to provide library services for the US Environmental Protection Agency in Research Triangle Park. The Library Director is responsible for overseeing all technical work performed under the contract and for managing the UNCSILS contract staff at the EPA Library. The staff currently consists of four full-time professional librarians, one full-time library technical assistant, and approximately 8 half-time graduate student interns. In collaboration with the SILS Associate Dean of Administration and Special Academic Programs and Contracts and Grants Administrator, the Library Director acts as liaison with UNC’s Office of Sponsored Research and the EPA Library Project Officer. With the support of the SILS faculty member liaison, the Director is responsible for ensuring that contract requirements are met, and that a broad and varied work experience is provided for the student interns. 

Qualifications: Requires the Masters in Library Science (MLS) degree (or foreign degree equivalent). In specialized libraries, may substitute an advanced degree in the field of specialization.

Salary: $80,000-90,000
