Description: Collection Development Manager provides leadership in and coordination of all development, maintenance, promotion, and evaluation activities for all print, electronic, online, and special collections of the system, supervision of Technical Services staff and acquisitions; as Information Services Manager, leadership, coordination, and supervision of all reference services provided by Information Services staff at Central Library, including adult programming. Information Services encompasses a broad range of activities including business / nonprofit services, digital literacy, job and career services, genealogy, North Carolina history, government information, special needs / Makerspace activities, and interlibrary loan. In total, supervises fifteen (15) professional and paraprofessional positions, and typically manages and materials budget of $800K to $1 million. As needed, provides back-up support for the Public Information Requests (PIRT) Administrator and Information Services staff manning a public service desk.
Qualifications: Master’s degree with 4 or more years' public library management experience. 3+ years' experience with vendor agreements and contracts. Experience managing an organizational budget of $500,000 or greater. 3+ years' experience developing adult library programming. 4+ years’ experience managing a library collection and/or reference staff.
Salary: $45,397 - $75,662
