Description
The IT Endpoint Engineer is a member of the IT department’s Technology Services unit. They help to lead strategic projects around managing, maintaining, and optimizing endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, and tablet environments. As the key departmental resource for Apple, Windows, and Linux computing, they provide technical consultations on highly complex technical projects; provide expertise on all computing platform issues; and train colleagues in troubleshooting endpoint and other computing concerns. This position reports to the IT Services Manager.
The position conducts specialized work in strategically developing and supporting the Libraries’ staff and patron computing environments, with a focus on endpoint management tools to design device configurations; optimizing systems performance; analyze systems usage and load issues; troubleshooting issues; diagnosing systems problems; and identifying technical trends in problem identification and resolutions. The position is responsible for forecasting, planning, communicating, designing, testing, and implementing system upgrades, updates, and patches.
Qualifications
One of the following:
-Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT-related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive experience in systems software programming OR
-Associate’s degree in computer science or an IT-related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in systems software programming OR
-An equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary
$98,000 minimum
