DESCRIPTION
The Lead Machine Technician works in the Machine Unit alongside the Machine Unit Clerk. This position’s primary responsibility is the repair and refurbishment of three types of Digital Talking Book Machines and two types of Braille eReaders circulated by our library. This often involves considerable troubleshooting of hardware, software and battery issues with these machines. The Lead Machine Technician is also responsible for maintaining a 3-month inventory of spare parts, disposing of damaged machines and batteries following National Library Service procedures, and documenting all repairs made to machines. This position will provide backup technical support for our patrons experiencing issues with their machines, and it will also provide support to the Circulation Department with the daily mail run; taking part in a regular rotation of five staff members to operate our 2.5-ton box truck.
SALARY
$39,671.00 - $54,549.00 / Annually
