Description
The Librarian – Bookmobile Manager performs supervisory and administrative work overseeing the operations of the Bookmobile, supporting our mission to provide accessible, high-quality library services. This role blends library expertise with community outreach and mobile service coordination. Key responsibilities include driving the Bookmobile to scheduled locations, assisting patrons with library services, supervising staff, planning special programs, and strengthening community connections.
The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and deliver mobile library services while managing staff and ensuring exceptional customer service. Duties include assigning and reviewing work, providing training, evaluating performance, and making personnel recommendations. The Librarian – Bookmobile Manager will also develop and implement outreach programs, maintain usage and circulation records, and serve as a visible and positive representative of the library. This role requires independent judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to expanding outreach to ensure library services are accessible throughout the community.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association and two years of professional library experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license.
