Description: This position is located at the Cliffdale Branch Library and is responsible for providing advanced library services to customers at the Adult Services Desk. This position manages the supervision, training, and scheduling of staff. May regularly act as Team Leader in absence of branch manager. Performs proactive reference, answers complex customer questions about information and technology resources. Staffs a public service point and provides immediate customer assistance. Trains the public in the use of library resources and equipment, including online catalog and databases. Resolves intermediate customer complaints; refers more complex issues to branch manager or Adult Services Manager. Prepares, presents, and schedules classes on basic and intermediate computer skills for the public. Participates in publicity and marketing of library resources and events.
Qualifications: Master of Library Science degree required. Trainee applicants must have completed at least 75% of required course work for MLS and submit letter from the Library School Dean that states the number of credit hours already obtained and that the candidate can complete all Master’s degree requirements within 12 months.
