Librarian I / Business Unit - High Point Public Library

Description: The City of High Point's Library/Research Services Division seeks to fill a position for a Business Librarian I. Essential tasks include providing reference service to the public in person, by telephone, and by email; participating in collection development and management; assisting the public with technology devices; assisting in planning and providing public programs; networking and developing working partnerships within Greater High Point business community; and assisting, as requested, in providing training for staff and the public for a variety of software applications and emerging technologies equipment including preparing written materials and oral presentations. Tasks also include taking responsibility for daily operation of unit in consultation with division head as needed, monitoring equipment as needed, writing articles for publications, and compiling and publishing guides and bibliographies pertaining to business and ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies.

Qualifications: MLS degree, ALA accreditation; Public library or other library work experience; Eligible for NC Public Librarian certificate; Public speaking and community outreach experience; Navigation skills with varied databases & other digital resources.

Salary: $41,364.96 - $53,002.56
