Description: This grant funded, temporary position is located at the Library headquarters and is responsible for executing community outreach services to help provide digital equity and inclusion in our communities. This position will provide advanced library services to customers focused on internet and computer skills. Responsible for engaging with customers to provide high quality individual and classroom assistance centered on the skills needed to ensure increasing customer confidence and knowledge. Provides regularly scheduled programs at locations system wide to teach different digital navigation and computer usage skills. Markets programs and services throughout the community to ensure maximum impact and attendance. Collaborates with community partners, county agencies, and other organizations to establish effective working relationships to promote and provide services. Innovates methods for serving the community and reaching the most underserved populations in the community. Represents the library at community events to promote Digital Navigation and library services.
Qualifications: Master of Library Science degree required. One-year experience in navigation and/or mentoring of adults, or related experience. Ability to work evenings or weekends, depending on program recipients’ schedules. Education or experience in psychology, teaching, tutoring, or social work strongly desired. Ability to travel to different locations throughout Cumberland County.
Salary: $20.67 / hour
