DESCRIPTION
The best candidate will possess a strong commitment to provide customer-focused service for a positive library experience and to relate tactfully and courteously with a wide range of diverse patrons and community members. A successful candidate will be able to work with children, coordinate services across a multi-branch system, plan and implement programs for kids of all ages, coordinate programs and services with the Adult Services Coordinator as needed, and train and support all of the children's staff within Alamance County Public Libraries. As well as be an active member of the Outreach department that has a flexible schedule, rotates to work at all branches throughout each month, and is trained to drive the Mobile Library vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have a MLIS or some college with 2 to 3 years of library experience working in a children’s programming role is required. Experience working with children in a formal setting is required. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Ability to think quickly, handle interruptions, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations with children and their adults is preferred. Maintain safe driving record and report vehicle problems or accidents to supervisory staff. Must be at least 21 years of age per insurance guidelines. May be required to submit to random drug testing.
SALARY
$50,272 - $54,000 / Annually
