Librarian III / Assistant Director of Operations - May Memorial Library, Alamance County Public Libraries

Description: We are currently seeking an outgoing, friendly individual with the ability to build a positive rapport with a diverse community and staff, and the ability to foster an overall positive library environment. The Assistant Director will provide strategic and functional oversight of library public services at all library locations, foster collaborative relationships with other County departments, non-profits, and other organizations, and be committed to advancing the library’s mission in the community. The position participates in planning and high level decision making, as well as leadership and mentoring to all library employees. This manager serves as the senior member of the library leadership team and works closely with the Library Director to manage the department's annual work plan and strategic plan. While most hours are Monday – Friday, occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Travel to multiple library locations within the county is frequent and required.

Qualifications: Master's Degree with 4 to 6 years of increasingly responsible professional library experience in a public library; OR Bachelor's Degree with 10 or more years of increasingly responsible professional library experience in a public library; 4 years of supervisory, management and leadership responsibilities.

Salary: $53,465 - $60,735
