Description: The Cumberland County Public Library has an opening at the North Regional Branch that is responsible for performing complex professional library work and administering a Regional Branch Library. This position is responsible for the supervision of subordinate staff to include mentoring and assistance to other branches and/ or other significant system-wide service. Hires, supervises, trains, evaluates, supports, and schedules branch staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and library goals are met. Oversees all branch services including Adult Services, Youth Services, Circulation, programming, and outreach. Ensures safety and security for all customers. Serves as an active participant on the library’s Management Team. Keeps staff informed of system-wide initiatives; promotes library trends and new technologies to branch staff. Maintains a well-organized, current branch collection by making recommendations for new and retrospective materials to the Division Manager for Collection Development. Staffs and supports public service points and programs when needed.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a MLS and three and a half (3½) years of professional library experience to include two (2) years of supervisory experience in a library setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management experience in a Public Library setting preferred.
