Description: The Librarian/Archivist, in collaboration with the Library Manager, performs a variety of professional tasks involving the acquisitions, accession, organization, and preservation of library materials. The top focus is to ensure the accessibility of archived materials to the public, and to provide research assistance to patrons seeking genealogical and local history information. Key Responsibilities: Organize and classify archival materials Preserve and maintain documents, records, and other materials Safeguard records by creating digital copies Create and manage a system to maintain and preserve electronic records Partner with the Library Manager and Collection Services on selecting new titles for the collection, as well as acquiring new archival donations Authenticate and appraise historical documents and archival materials Position Description Plan and conduct special research projects Programming and Outreach Plan, organize, and conduct tours and workshops for the public Attend meetings and civic events to promote the library and library system Attend professional development opportunities 

Qualifications: Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA-accredited program or NC program. No specific experience required. Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted.
