DESCRIPTION

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
Partner with division managers and Human Resources to recruit, interview, and hire exceptional library staff.
Oversee major purchases and vendor relationships to ensure the responsible and efficient use of public resources.
Manage the library’s building maintenance and security programs, coordinating with City departments and contractors.
Support budget development, financial reporting, and expenditure tracking for multiple divisions.
Guide and develop staff in Technical Services, Lending Services, Maintenance and Administrative Services, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Assist in planning and implementing operational projects and new initiatives that enhance library services and community engagement.
Represent the library at meetings, including Library Board sessions, and assist in preparing technical reports and annual statistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's in library science or master's in library & information science from an ALA-accredited program.
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
Valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina or another state, with the ability to obtain an NC license
Must be eligible for an NC Public Librarian Certification

SALARY

Compensation Range: $86,045.44 - $116,786.80
