Description: The Library Assistant, Senior – Collection Services is a full-time, on-site, 40 hour per week paraprofessional position that provides essential public services to Duke University faculty, students and staff, as well as to visitors to the Ford Library. Responsibilities include: circulation support, interlibrary loans, student worker training, student worker supervision, managing hold requests, responding to patron inquiries, and other collection related services as assigned. The Library Assistant, Senior communicates with all library users throughout Duke University and with libraries and patrons external to Duke to facilitate access to library materials. The Library Assistant, Senior for Collection Services reports to the Collection Services Librarian.

Qualifications: Four years of post-secondary education or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and excellent customer service skills, proficiency with productivity and library software, Experience training and supervising multiple students or employees in a public service environment.
