Description

The Duke Law Library seeks a well-rounded, skilled person to join our staff. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Cataloging & Metadata Services, the Library Associate at Goodson Law Library performs cataloging, content management, preservation, access services, outreach, and other related tasks. 

General areas of responsibility for this position include bibliographic control, Duke Law School archives, the Duke Law history website, the Law School institutional repository, the faculty bibliography database, digital collections, and the preservation of special collections and other Library materials. The Associate may supervise the work of student assistants and interns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Requires two years of library experience to obtain specialized knowledge of library systems and procedures; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; able to work independently and as a member of a team; high proficiency using computer-based technology and ability to adapt to new technologies; ability to effectively organize and prioritize daily work; demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer services.
  • Skills and knowledge related to library cataloging standards and tools, including MARC21, RDA, and OCLC Connexion.

Salary: $49,405 to $64,250
