Description: Perry Memorial Library is currently seeking an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic candidate to provide programming and youth services reference support, as well as youth outreach. This position performs paraprofessional work in the youth services department of the Perry Memorial Library serving Vance County and the city of Henderson. Work involves providing reference services and programming activities such as the summer reading program and weekly youth programming. Assists patrons with the public access computers. Develops and implements programming of general interest for age birth to 18. Responsible for implementing our youth outreach services, including delivery and programming to daycares and preschools. Engages in the community, creates and maintains partnerships to enhance youth services, and develops programs that reach community expectations and standards. Reports to the Youth Services Librarian.
Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent and a valid North Carolina driver’s license required. Significant and relevant experience providing public/customer service and computing skills required. Knowledge of public library services and technologies, knowledge of learning activities for early childhood through high school, bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with Evergreen ILS preferred.
