Description: Oversees the physical building, daily public service, and technical operations of the Branch. Maintains discipline and security, and enforces policies and procedures. Supervises, coaches, and develops branch staff, using skills and strengths to provide excellent customer service and personal development. Creates an environment leading to positive user experiences. Provides readers’ advisory, reference, and information assistance to patrons. Monitors branch budget and expenditures. Ensures compliance with daily deposits and other financial processes. Assists patrons in bridging the digital divide by assisting with job searching, Internet searching, online database use, and accessing the Library’s electronic collection. Plans and implements in-house and outreach library programs and activities for all age groups. Makes recommendations for the purchase of library materials; weeds collection as needed. Promotes branch and system services in-house and in the community via exhibits & displays, speaking engagements, and participation in community events. Leads teams for special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an American Library Association accredited library school is desired. Will consider an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum of three years public library experience and 1-2 years leadership/supervisory experience.
