Description:
The Library Building and Operations Manager oversees all aspects of library buildings (Randall and Discovery Halls) operations, including facility management, security, access control, policies, program development, strategy, project management, facility improvement initiatives, equipment, inventory and asset management, space planning and assessment, and scheduling. Library spaces include classrooms, high technology spaces, student study space, faculty commons, graduate student space, offices, computing spaces, general and specialized collections spaces, exhibit and event space, and campus partner spaces in two buildings with a combined square footage of 230,000 sq. ft.. Working closely with and advising the Dean and other Associate Directors, this position reports to the Associate Dean. This position directly supervises three staff and several student workers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
- Three years of progressive experience in facility management
- Demonstrated understanding of university or library operations
- Experience with space planning and management
- Ability to use applicable technology, web-based data systems and programs needed to complete work assignments
- Ability to exercise tact, judgment, and discretion in dealing with a wide variety of students, staff, and members of the community, including responding promptly and accurately to clients based on established policies and procedures
- Proficient in written and oral communication skills and communication technologies, including ability to document work and refer issues as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to handle emergency situations
- Strong communications skills
Salary: $66,800/year
