Description: This position oversees the library system in Chatham County, including library branches in Pittsboro, Siler City, and Goldston. The Chatham Community Library is a joint-use facility in partnership with Central Carolina Community College. Essential functions include performing difficult professional and administrative work directing the activities of the County library system, establishing goals for program planning, administering policies and procedures and performing related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the County Manager. Departmental supervision is exercised over all personnel within the department.
Qualifications: Master's degree from an ALA accredited institution with coursework in library science and considerable experience in the planning, development, and administration of library services with some managerial and supervisory experience.
