Description: Wake County, NC, seeks a collaborative, strategic thinker, and excellent communicator to serve as its next Library Director. The ideal candidate will be community- focused, progressive and lead by example. The next Library Director will focus on developing a positive team culture, strategic planning, communicating and managing change, community engagement, and staff development and engagement.
Qualifications: The position requires a master’s degree in library science, library and information science, or a related field — an MLS, MLIS, MIS, or ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program — and six years of experience in a library setting with management responsibilities. Requires NC Public Librarian Certification. An equivalent combination of education and experience will not be accepted.
Salary: $120,000-$171,000
