Description: Grant Writing, Reporting and Cultivation - Prepares funding proposals using prescribed format and deadlines or assists project managers in proposal preparation; compiles documentation needed to complete grant proposals; Works with project managers to prepare other reports and documentation required by granting agencies. Identifies new grant opportunities for the library, by researching prospects as identified independently or as requested, and submit grants accordingly. Grant Planning, Research and Administration - Maintain an up-to-date grants submission calendar for the library, as well as grant files and documents. Provides information about funding opportunities, requirements, procedures and deadlines. Researches and identifies private, corporate and governmental grant opportunities for Durham County Library. Maintains a database of funding agencies and operates a computer to prepare, maintain, review or modify data and prepare reports and other documents. Marketing Support - Write stories highlighting library news for inclusion in library publications, as well as acts as editor for written submissions.
Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year degree from a college or university with major coursework in English, Journalism, Public Administration or a related discipline and five years professional experience in grant writing and administration or a related area.
Salary: $44,661 to $60,000
