Description:
Utilizing a broad HR body of knowledge, the HR Representative works with assigned units to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, high-performing workforce. Partners with managers, staff, and external resources to solve HR-related issues and concerns through communicating, interpreting, and recommending appropriate use of human resource policies and procedures, and services and programs offered by Duke University.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Work requires organizational, analytical and communication skills generally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program. (Preferred) BA/BS in related field.
Experience:
Required: Work requires two years of business, administrative and/or supervisory experience with exposure to supervisory or human resource policies and practices related to employee relations. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience. (Preferred) A combination of three years of HR/payroll experience to acquire knowledge of HR policies, procedures, employment laws, best practices, preference given to previous Duke payroll experience; prior experience working in academic research library.
