Description: Catawba College seeks an innovative, service-oriented individual to maintain the daily operations of the Greg and Missie Alcorn Digital Learning Lab, including supporting online/virtual technologies and providing assistance in the support of online course delivery, and best practices for both traditional and adult learners. This position will also serve as an integral part of a team involved with consulting and supporting instructional technology services to Catawba. The Library Instructional Technologist will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to troubleshoot and support high quality online courses effectively using technology to enhance teaching and learning, ensure consistency and efficiency in course design and technology adoption, and research new technologies and pedagogies as needed to serve this mission. The Library Instructional Technologist works in partnership with library personnel, faculty, and campus IT professionals and vendors to design, develop and maintain applications that support the delivery of teaching and learning at Catawba.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, or equivalency. Two to four years experience in instructional technology, preferably in an online education environment. Knowledge of learning theory with the ability to apply the theory into practice. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with a variety of software.
