Description:
North Carolina Wesleyan University seeks a reliable service-oriented individual to manage library circulation operations at night Sunday through Thursday, to provide basic reference and technology assistance to users, and to help maintain a safe, secure, and positive environment in the library. Assists Circulation Supervisor in training and supervising part-time student assistants. Works at the Circulation Desk assisting patrons with circulation, reference, and technology questions and develops good relationships with library users. In collaboration with Campus Security, helps maintain a safe, secure, and positive environment in the library. The Night Supervisor works up to 25 hours per week, typically Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to midnight, when school is in session, late August to early May.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should have at least an associate degree or the equivalent of two years of college; an undergraduate degree is preferred. Computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to troubleshoot computer and printer problems. Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively with college students, faculty, library student assistants, and other staff. Ability to supervise others effectively. Library experience and familiarity with library circulation functions and electronic resources including online databases, and supervisory experience are desirable.
Salary: $13/hour
