Description: Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work in the public services areas of the public library, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Librarian. This position assists with the planning, coordination and implementation of age appropriate activities and programs for children and their caregivers. The successful candidate will prepare and conduct story times, school age programing, up to and including high school. Along with providing information about library services and materials and Every Child Ready to Read principles. Knowledge of literature for children and teens, and an understanding of youth development and behavior are essential. Also, provides outreach services to the community; and developing and scheduling special programming. Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteer.
Qualifications: Associates/Technical degree with coursework in library science or related field and moderate experience working in a library or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $30,284.80 - $39,370.24
