Library Program Specialist / Information Services - Main Branch, Iredell County Public Library

Description: Under general supervision, performs specialized Library work assisting patrons in using online resources (ex. OPAC, Internet, digital books, and NCLIVE) and the print and general collections of the County Library. Work involves providing quick, correct, and professional answers to basic to intermediate inquiries as well as technical and reference assistance to library patrons. Work involves designing appropriate displays and occasional programming for patrons and staff as well as assisting with maintaining accurate information and links on the library’s website and social media sites. Work may also include selection or recommendation of materials for purchase by the library to enhance the print and digital collections. Employee must exercise initiative and independent judgment in program development and adhere to County standards in use of social media. Employee must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contacts with Library patrons. Reports to the Information Services Manager.

Qualifications: Graduation from High School and experience working work with the public in a Library setting; College degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Salary: $34,885.25
