The Gibsonville Public Library is seeking someone to help us serve our growing, diverse community. Our library is dedicated to finding new and innovative paths toward our vision of “Growing Together” in Gibsonville, which means we need people who are passionate about engaging and working with all members of our community.

The ideal candidate for this position wants to be an active part of an organization that affects positive change in our community, will help support a public space that is welcoming to diverse populations, and is proficient with computers and technology.

The person in this role will plan, organize and manage the library’s community programs and publicity, as well as provide high-quality customer service to all library visitors by assisting with information requests, technology questions, library materials and programs, and account maintenance. They will act as a community ambassador for the library by participating in community events and activities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of modern library operations.
  • Knowledge of social media, graphic design and content management platforms.
  • Skill in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, etc.
  • Skill in communicating and presenting ideas effectively in oral and written forms.
  • Skill in working closely with children, parents, teens, and adults.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours on a regular basis.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community groups, employees, and patrons.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks and self-impose standards of excellence

Salary: $43,405
