Description: A 30-hour position with full time benefits and a focus on children is available at the Archdale Public Library. Experience working with children in a library or educational environment preferred; in a library with children’s programming or early childhood education background preferred. Monday- Friday hours required; some evening and Saturday hours. Plans and conducts programs for patrons. Provides circulation assistance to patrons including checkout of library material, issuing library cards, assessing fees and fines, and resolving problems related to library records. Checks in and distributes library material for shelving or transfer; assists patrons with homework, research, retrieval of library material and use of computers; refers patrons to librarian when necessary. Autonomously manages service desk in absence of supervisor. Provides basic readers advisory services to patrons.
Qualifications: Must have high school diploma and 2 years’ experience working in customer service, office environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates Degree preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required. Must have valid NC driver’s license.
Salary: $15.43 - $23.78 / hour
