Library Technician - Davidson Davie Community College
Description: The Library Technician is a 10-month, full-time position that works cooperatively with the Director of Library Services to provide quality services to faculty, staff, students and the community at both Davidson and Davie campuses. The Library Technician reports to the Director of Library Services and has the following responsibilities: Carries out the daily activities of the circulation desk. Assists patrons with their questions and with using computers. Prepares new library materials for borrowing. Performs library tours. Assists with maintaining library statistics. Oversees interlibrary loan. Prepares the library’s computer lab for reservations. Assists with creating library marketing materials. Trains staff in circulation procedures. Manages cash funds collected by the library. Must offer exceptional customer service. Maintains open, robust, and timely communication with colleagues and supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned that support the College mission and initiatives. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the College.
Qualifications: Associates Degree (must be from a regionally accredited institution.) Information technology skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment. Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college.
