Description: Performs a variety of specialized administrative, skilled clerical and routine paraprofessional support activities. These activities may be related to technical service tasks, circulation and patron services, resource sharing, outreach services, and / or the library’s technology systems and equipment. An employee in this class performs specialized administrative, skilled clerical and routine technical services work requiring the application of basic library practices and procedures. Technical services work involves processing new materials as well as selecting materials for assigned portion of the library’s collection, creating and maintaining library displays, as well as performing collection maintenance tasks including book repair and weeding. Circulation and patron services including a variety of circulation tasks providing patrons with readers’ advisory services and assistance with the use of the card catalog, library computers and other library equipment.
Qualifications: Graduation from high school, preferably supplemented by college-level course work in library science, and several years of experience in library work cataloguing or circulation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate's Degree preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Work experience in an office or clerical setting required.
Salary: $14.82 / hour
