DESCRIPTION

The Martha and Nancy Lee Bivens Distinguished Professor for Children and Reading and Instructional Materials Center Librarian will work closely with the College of Education, education librarians, and the IMC staff to promote the growth and development of the IMC collection, and contribute to its instructional offerings, reference services, and programming outreach. They will coordinate activities that provoke enthusiasm and excitement for reading among children, and prepare future teachers to instill a lifelong love of literature in their students. They will utilize the innovative resources in the Libraries, such as the Makerspace and Recording Studios, to support children and reading. This position will consult and collaborate with other faculty, maintain a high level of professional service and scholarship, and advance the reputation of the IMC. QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, candidates will have the following: An ALA-accredited master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree; at least five (5) years of experience working in the field of librarianship and children’s and young adult literature;
and at least five (5) years of demonstrated experience curating a curriculum materials center collection.

SALARY

The salary range is $68,000 - $72,000 for Associate Professor and $85,000 - $97,000 for Full Professor. The annual stipend for the distinguished fellowship starts at $8,000. The total salary and stipend are determined by qualifications and experience.
