Description: Selects books and other materials for collection development for adult and children’s outreach, and the Main library; coordinates the acquisition of materials. Assists customers with in-depth reference services at the access services desk. Instructs customers in how to use the library and its print and electronic resources; assists the public in person, by telephone, or via virtual chat; gives out specific information and instructions. Supervises the adult outreach team member and the children’s outreach team member; creates monthly schedules for both children’s and adult outreach.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school or will be completed within 6 months of appointment, or related field and moderate experience working in a public or academic library as a professional librarian and 1-year supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. North Carolina Public Librarian certificate or the ability to obtain one. Valid driver's license.
