Position Description: Person County Government is seeking a dynamic, community-focused professional to serve as a Full-Time Outreach Librarian for the Person County Public Library. We are seeking a self-motivated, service-oriented professional who is passionate about community engagement and expanding equitable access to information. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to foster positive relationships with diverse populations are essential. This vital role extends the reach of our public library services beyond our physical walls, ensuring that all residents—regardless of age, mobility, or circumstance—have access to enriching library resources and meaningful connections. This position operates under general supervision and requires the ability to work independently while developing effective work methods and schedules. The Outreach Librarian must demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills to manage routes, plan services, and ensure consistent, reliable delivery of materials.
Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements - Master’s degree in Library Science or related discipline; and one (1) year of public library work or related experience. Special Certifications and Licenses: North Carolina Public Librarian Certification eligibility; must obtain within one year of hire. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Salary: $51,032 - $65,393 annually
