Description: WCPL seeks to hire a part-time (20 hours per week) Adult Services Librarian for the Duraleigh Road Community Library, focusing on serving the adult community there. In collaboration with a team of Librarians and Library Assistants committed to high-quality service and engaging programming, your role involves delivering programs, offering professional services, and providing reference, readers' advisory, and circulation support. This position also entails collaborating with managers and peers, along with participating in select system initiatives, given the part-time nature. Your key responsibilities encompass planning, promoting, and presenting programs for various age groups, delivering assistance at the service desk for circulation and information needs, maintaining and arranging sections of the adult collections, and leading Library Assistants in program delivery.
Qualifications: A Master's degree in Librarianship or a related field is required, such as MLS, MLIS, MIS, or ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program. There is no specific experience prerequisite. Please note that equivalent education and experience will not be considered.
