Part Time Evening Librarian - Isothermal Community College

Description: The responsibilities for this position encompass various tasks, including but not limited to: maintaining the library website and aiding in the creation of research guides and tutorials; contributing to library promotional efforts, such as marketing and outreach activities; providing reference services to library patrons; managing circulation desk responsibilities, which involve assisting patrons in finding and utilizing library materials, handling check-outs, check-ins, and fine collection, as well as aiding patrons with basic computer issues and directional queries; aiding in the selection of both print and non-print materials for the library's collection; participating in the development and delivery of bibliographic instruction, both in-person and online, synchronously and asynchronously; promoting library services and materials within the college and the wider community while encouraging cooperation and resource sharing with local, regional, and state libraries; engaging in professional development activities and representing the library through participation in professional organizations, as well as serving on college committees and contributing to relevant community projects; and finally, performing any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Library Science or an equivalent qualification is required. Preferred qualifications include an American Library Association accredited Master’s Degree, one year of library experience, preferably in a community college library or learning resources center, and academic preparation or experience relevant to the application of technology in an academic institution. Experience in instructional design is also preferred.

Salary: $20.00 / hour
