Description:
WCPL is hiring a part-time (20 hours per week) Adult Services Librarian for the Duraleigh Road Community Library to focus on the adult population in that community. You will work in the library with a team of Librarians and Library Assistants dedicated to offering quality service and dynamic programming. Beyond delivering programs and providing professional services, you will provide reference, readers' advisory and circulation assistance. Librarians are offered the opportunity to collaborate with managers and peers; and participate in system initiatives, though on a more limited basis due to the part-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, promote and present programs and services for new adults through seniors
Work directly with the public on a service desk providing reference and readers' advisory
Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Library Manager
Take a lead with Library Assistants assigned to assist in the delivery of programs
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program
No specific experience required
Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted
