Description: Wake County Public Libraries (WCPL) is seeking a creative, enthusiastic and service-driven Youth Services Librarian with a passion for early childhood development to work Part-Time (20 hours per week) for the Athens Drive Community Library. In this role you will work in the library with a team of Librarians and Library Assistants dedicated to offering quality service and dynamic programming to the community. Beyond developing and delivering storytimes, Librarians provide reference, readers' advisory and circulation assistance. Librarians are offered the opportunity to collaborate with managers and peers; and participate in system initiatives, though on a more limited basis due to the part-time schedule. 

Key Responsibilities: Plan, promote and present multiple weekly programs for children and families. Work directly with the public on a service desk providing reference and readers' advisory. Take a lead with Library Assistants assigned to assist in the delivery of programs.

Qualifications: The Basics (Required Education and Experience) Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program
No specific experience required.  Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted. Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) Coursework in youth services
One year of professional librarian experience.
