Description: An employee in this position provides direct customer service in circulation, reader's advisory, technology training and other general library services. Work includes completion of various forms or reports, checking library materials in and out, assisting customers in locating library materials, typing, filing, issuing library cards, collecting fines, shelving books, facilitating resource sharing and assisting customers in the use of computerized catalogues, audio-visual equipment, the Internet, and other technology. Work requires significant public contact in a public building. Work is performed in an inside environment generally, but may provide assistance with programming outside. This job is under regular supervision and evaluated for customer service effectiveness and accuracy of work activities.
Qualifications: Graduation from high school required with preference given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree; at least one year of library experience is preferred.
