Description: WCPL is hiring a part-time (20 hours per week) Youth Services Librarian for the Athens Drive Community Library to focus on the Young Child. You will work in the library with a team of Librarians and Library Assistants dedicated to offering quality service and dynamic programming to the community. Beyond developing and delivering story times, Librarians provide reference, readers' advisory and circulation assistance. Librarians are offered the opportunity to collaborate with managers and peers and participate in system initiatives, though on a more limited basis due to the part-time schedule. Responsibilities include planning, promotion and presentation of multiple weekly programs for children and families. Also working directly with the public on a service desk providing reference and readers' advisory and working with Library Assistants assigned to assist in the delivery of programs.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program. No specific experience required, equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted.
Salary: $21.33 - $28.80 / hour.
