Virtual Screening and Discussion with Local Digital Storytellers

About this Event

PBS North Carolina, the State Library of North Carolina, The Monti, and PBS American Portrait present The Power of Personal Storytelling—a unique virtual event.

Join us for a special screening of personal stories from two local storytellers. View their short films and hear what motivates the creators to tell their stories. After the screening, a discussion will be moderated by Jeff Polish, executive director of The Monti, a Durham-area non-profit that invites people from the community to tell personal stories without the use of notes—it is just simple storytelling. Attendees are encouraged to engage with the panelists via the virtual chat feature and participate in an audience Q & A.

Moderator: Jeff Polish, executive director, The Monti

Storytelling panelists:

  • Omisade Burney-Scott
  • Sabrina Saleha

Discussion topics: personal storytelling, storytelling for change, and digital storytelling
