Description
Campbell Libraries seeks two self-motivated, remote Prison Education Research Support Interns to provide online, asynchronous reference services to students enrolled in our Second Chance prison education degree programs. These incarcerated students submit research requests which will be fulfilled by the interns under the guidance of the Research & Instruction Services department. MLS students fulfilling this paid internship role will have flexibility in daily hours and may work remotely. The right candidate will feel confident providing reference support, be able to manage turnaround times of the research requests which can tend to have seasonal rhythms, and will gain valuable experience fulfilling authentic reference needs for undergraduate college courses utilizing Campbell Libraries’ resources.
While this internship supports remote work, candidates must reside in North Carolina and must occasionally come to Wiggins Memorial Library (Buies Creek, NC).
Salary
Interns will be paid $14/hour and are each eligible to work up to 250 hours between June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026.
