The McDowell County Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Program and Outreach Librarian to lead and manage our library’s dynamic programming and outreach services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating a wide range of library programs for all ages, overseeing outreach services including the bookmobile, and supervising a dedicated team of program staff. This role is focused on ensuring the success of community-centered programming through efficient management of logistics, clear communication, and data-driven program evaluation. Qualifications:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
●Experience in program development, community engagement, and event coordination.
●Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and staff.
●Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patrons, staff, and community partners.
●Proven leadership experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
●Proficiency in tracking data and using evaluation tools to assess program success and make improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:
●Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) or a related field.
●3-5 years of experience in program management, community outreach, or library services.
●Experience with budget management.

Salary: $46,140/year
