DESCRIPTION

The Town of Mooresville is seeking an innovative and community-focused Library Director to lead the Mooresville Public Library and West Branch Library. This position is responsible for the overall management, vision, and delivery of library services to meet the diverse needs and interests of our growing community.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and strategic leader with a strong background in library administration, budgeting, and modern library operations. This individual will guide a talented team, champion access to information and lifelong learning, and advance the library’s role as a cornerstone of civic engagement and community connection.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited program required.
Seven to ten years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in a public library setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of a Public Librarian Certificate issued by the State Library of North Carolina.
Strong knowledge of modern library principles, budgeting, planning, and emerging technologies.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and build positive community relationships.

SALARY

$90,500.00 - $120,600.00 / annually
