Description:
- Answering telephone calls and chat service messages from patrons per daily schedule, assisting walk-in patrons as needed, and selecting and assigning book titles most likely to interest them.
- Using Keystone Library Automated System (KLAS) which includes reader profiles and library collection information.
- Calling applicants to explain service options and eligibility requirements.
- Initiating contact with patrons as directed or needed.
- Updating patron reading profiles in automated system.
- Acting as backup at reception desk as needed.
- Assisting with library programs as needed
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of library and/or book-related software such as Keystone Library Automated Systems (KLAS).
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite software (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a team.
Preferences:
- Demonstrated skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated experience with reader advisory work in a library or bookstore.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of popular and classic reading materials and authors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of children’s literature.
- Demonstrated ability to speak Spanish a plus.
Salary Range: $31,200-$45,000
