Description: 

  • Answering telephone calls and chat service messages from patrons per daily schedule, assisting walk-in patrons as needed, and selecting and assigning book titles most likely to interest them.
  • Using Keystone Library Automated System (KLAS) which includes reader profiles and library collection information.
  • Calling applicants to explain service options and eligibility requirements.
  • Initiating contact with patrons as directed or needed.
  • Updating patron reading profiles in automated system.
  • Acting as backup at reception desk as needed.
  • Assisting with library programs as needed

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of library and/or book-related software such as Keystone Library Automated Systems (KLAS).
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite software (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team.

Preferences:

  • Demonstrated skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated experience with reader advisory work in a library or bookstore.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of popular and classic reading materials and authors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of children’s literature.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak Spanish a plus.

Salary Range: $31,200-$45,000
