DESCRIPTION 

The Meredith College Library seeks a service-oriented and energetic librarian to contribute to the library’s instructional programs and manage its electronic research resources.

Instructional responsibilities include: planning and teaching library instruction sessions for face-to-face and online classes to support our tiered information literacy program; providing research assistance to the college community, including service desk coverage and individual research consultations; producing and maintaining a variety of instructional materials such as online tutorials, videos, and research guides; and serving as liaison librarian to several academic departments, which involves instruction, collection development, and outreach activities.

E-resource responsibilities include: managing the library’s electronic research resources, including troubleshooting, interface updates, access, and additions/renewals/cancellations; maintaining our 360Core e-resource knowledge base to reflect our current periodicals holdings, as utilized by our library’s Summon discovery search engine and 360Link linking tool; and gathering and analyzing usage statistics and patterns for e-resources, in support of data-informed decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required qualifications include a master's degree from an ALA-accredited library science program, experience with information literacy instruction and interest in employing a variety of pedagogical approaches and instructional technologies, experience with providing research assistance, proficiency with using spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets), strong attention to detail, effective written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work creatively and effectively as a member of a team.
