Description
The State Archivist and Records Administrator provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the division; establishes standards and priorities for the division; oversees the scheduling of state and local government records; collaborates with agency administration on legal issues related to public records; oversees public services for the division; promotes the work of the division in a variety of mediums; manages grant, appropriated, and receipts based funds for the division, including oversight and strategic use of the Archives and Records Management (ARM) funds based on departmental priorities; serves as deputy coordinator for the State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB); collaborates with the Friends of the Archives; engages key stakeholders within the department, state and local government and national government and non-profit groups to further the mission and goals of the division; and partners with professional organizations statewide and nationally to promote best practices and standards for the management of government records.
qualifications
Masters degree in history, public history, library and information science, AND six years of progressive experience in archival and/or records management or related program OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
