DESCRIPTION

Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Carl A. Rudisill Library seeks a full-time, 12-month Student Success and Outreach Librarian for its Hickory, NC campus. This non-tenure-track faculty position focuses on enhancing student engagement, promoting academic success, and fostering a welcoming environment through inclusive programming and collaboration. Key responsibilities include supervising student and graduate assistants, coordinating evening staffing, providing library instruction aligned with ACRL standards, and leading outreach efforts. The librarian will also support reference services, contribute to collection development, and maintain a visible campus presence. A Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program is required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library/information science program. While three or more years of professional library experience—preferably in an academic setting—is preferred, recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Preferred qualifications include experience with library instruction, reference services, outreach, and supervising student workers. Familiarity with the ACRL Framework, instructional technologies, online catalogs, electronic resources, and course management systems is desired. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a commitment to student success and inclusive engagement.
