Description: The Student Success Librarian will help develop and assess new approaches to conducting outreach and instruction in flexible teaching and learning environments, including hybrid and online environments. When appropriate, the Student Success Librarian will teach courses for University College (such as UCOL 1300) in addition to providing research instruction in their assigned areas. They will support the library’s digital media literacy instruction and programming by creating instructional materials and offering workshops and instruction sessions as needed and may contribute to conversations on campus about curriculum development and the library’s role in the curriculum. In this position, the Student Success Librarian will engage with campus partners, including but not limited to University College, the University Center for Academic Excellence, Passport, 49er Next, and 49er Rebound to promote library services and resources.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in the field of library and information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association by time of application. Graduation with master’s degree in a specialized area directly relevant to the position description may be an acceptable substitute in certain situations if approved by the Dean. A second masters in another discipline or an earned doctorate is highly desirable.
Salary: $65,000
